System Integration Services
Our approach to any Systems
Integration project is to provide a comprehensive coverage of all systems in
the organisation so that both current and future needs are addressed. A
combination of methods, tools and techniques are utilised as best suited for
each specific type of project. The integration services provided include
all aspects of hardware, software, networking, security and
telecommunication issues.
Our training department
curriculum covers the training requirements from IT professionals to company
executives. Subjects covered vary from office automation tools to technical
knowledge and methodologies.
We provide both scheduled and bespoke training
courses. Bespoke training is designed to meet an organization’s technology
trends. By interviewing trainees prior to a training session we gain
knowledge of the users’ environment and tools used, allowing us to provide
training adaptable to their specific needs.
ICT Research
Virtual IT has been involved in Information
Communications Technologies (ICT) research since 2001. With ICT research
Virtual IT aims to promote the use and research of innovative solutions
through state-of-the art technologies, contributing towards productive and
economic growth of the country and EU.
Based on our extensive experience in managing
and implementing Information Technology projects as well as participation in
EU and national funding projects Virtual IT consultants will first analyse
and evaluate proposed ideas received. Project ideas will be evaluated
against innovation, usability, interoperability, dependability and
strategic objectives of the proposed programme call.
Major R&D projects include:

Virtual Bus: The Virtual Bus is a
mobile Internet research and education lab that is equipped with the
latest technology computer workstations, servers, internet security,
2-way broadband satellite, Wi-Fi, 3G, audiovisual, videoconference,
audiovisual equipment, air conditioning and power generator making it
totally independent from any source. The bus has a clear lab space of
6,80LX2,30WX2,10H meters fitted with eleven office desks, chairs and

e-Municipalities ASP Infrastructure:
The purpose of the project is the design and implementation of a
common Application Service Provider ICT infrastructure for
municipalities in Cyprus. The objective of the project is to take
advantage of the economies of scale of the country and develop a common
infrastructure that will provide e-Government services to all
municipalities in Cyprus. Under this ASP environment municipalities
will be able to work together as one unity providing knowledge and
resources sharing, exploring technical and business opportunities,
networking activities, productivity, minimizing duplication and
investment in new technologies.

Virtual School Workshop: The
objective of this project was to investigate the possibility and
identify the limits of a widely available e-learning platform to
becoming an on-line / virtual workshop. The approach of the project was
to research the capability of providing a collaborative approach of
teachers and students on-line were they can teach and be toughed,
perform activities, communicate, chat, pause views, set and do homework
on-line and in general find out of what is going on in the school at an
time. The project involved the development of an environment were work,
play and communication can be hosted under the same roof and will be
able to have a creative workshop on-line no matter where someone maybe.
Students and Teachers are be able to get on line but also link to the
on-going and dynamic activities.

e-Minder: The project objectives
was the closing of the gap between the most and least developed European
Regions in the use and development of eCommerce, raise awareness of ICT
application in eCommerce among the SMEs and the education and training
structures. In addition the project provided services and support to
citizens and companies in implementing their eCommerce related
activities by the creation of Competence Centers.
